Avon Old Farms School Priority:

For the duration of the winter sports season (early November to late February), Avon Old Farms School squash teams have priority access to the Avon Old Farms Squash Club facility. Practice times and matches will be blacked out on our online reservation system to avoid any confusion or double booking.

Avon Old Farms team practices will occupy full use of the squash facility Monday through Friday between 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (occasionally earlier on Wednesdays for scheduled season matches) and occasionally on Saturday afternoons for scheduled season matches. If any of the teams’ schedules are to change, the courts will be released on the online reservation system, and will become available for use by members.

Court Usage & Conduct:

All players must wear approved squash eyewear while on the squash court.

Appropriate shoes are to be worn on court at all times. No bare feet, socks only, or black-soled or marking shoes are to be worn on the squash courts at any time.

Appropriate athletic attire is to be worn while on court.

Courts are available to be booked in 45 minute increments only. One 45 minute court may be booked per member, per day, and the maximum booking at any one time is 45 minutes. If members want to play for 90 minutes, two members are required to each book a 45-minute time slot. Members will be able to book up to two weeks in advance of their intended reservation.

Courts are to be booked for the purpose of squash only (unless given prior consent by the club professional)

Members are asked to book their squash court 24 hours prior to arrival and intended play at the Avon Old Farms Squash Club via the online reservation system Club Locker powered by US Squash. Members are responsible for the cancellation of their own court bookings; repeated failure to comply may result in cancellation of membership.

Please be considerate of other members and cancel your court reservation as soon as possible if reservations are unable to be honored.  

We ask that members be mindful of their surroundings and refrain from using inappropriate language during their time on campus.

Any acts of violence or anger on or off court while on Avon Old Farms School property will not be tolerated, and will result in the immediate cancellation of membership.

Guest Policy:

Avon Old Farms Squash Club Members are are entitled to two guest visits per month. Members must be present with their guest while they are within the Avon Old Farms Squash Club. Members are not allowed to reserve courts solely for use by guests. Members are asked to have any guests to the Avon Old Farms Squash Club sign the guest-waiver agreement prior to scheduled play. A guestbook will be made readily accessible inside the facility for this purpose. All members need to make sure their guests understand and follow the same rules that club members agreed upon at membership sign-up. Abuse of the guest policy may result in having your membership revoked and membership fees will be forfeited.

Facility Access:

Upon completion of membership sign-up and payment, a membership card will be issued to each new membership owner.

Each membership card contains a proximity sensor that will grant access to 3 different security doors:

• The external door to the Avon Old Farms Squash Club from the club’s parking area (situated behind the athletic field house)

• The internal door to the facility from within the athletic fieldhouse (lower level underneath the Athletic Offices)

• Access to either the male or female changing rooms (dependant upon sex of the member)

Membership to the Avon Old Farms Squash Club grants the member access only to the lower level parking area, the Gaynor Squash Pavillion, guest locker rooms (faculty locker rooms located at the opposite end of the lower walkway in the athletic facility) and the pathways shared between. Members are not permitted access to any areas of Avon Old Farms School unless otherwise permitted. If members are found to be sharing their cards with non-members, or going to areas of the athletic facility or student center that are otherwise prohibited, membership privileges will be revoked, and any membership fees will be forfeited.

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult unless they are participating in a program with the squash professional.

Please be considerate of others and leave the facility in a clean and tidy manner upon your exit. The lights in the guest locker rooms are not automated, so we ask that members remember to switch them off if they are the last to leave the locker rooms.
